Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to our dedicated fan base.

As you know, we were in North America from August 26 to September 24. It was an awesome trip, but quite exhausting, so we have taken quite some time to get back into the swing of things. To top it off, we had a ton of pictures to sort through from the trip, and have not even made a dent in them yet. However, the good thing about so many pictures is that we'll have no problem featuring new pictures on the blog for quite some time. We put some copies of many of the photos from our trip on Picasa, so follow the link to our album, and check them out.

In other news, we've been busy settling back in. Since we got back from our trip, I had a birthday, Naomi turned nine-months-old, and Eriko from Tokyo and Estuardo from Guatemala came to visit.

We are planning a few events for this fall and winter, and will post pictures of those activities later. We're planning to do something with friends for Halloween and for Thanksgiving. Doug will have a birthday next Monday, and we'll probably go out to dinner to celebrate on that day.

So that's our news so far. Until next time, we wish you all the best.

Time flies!

To our dedicated fan base!
I have a mountain of Japanese homework, so I figured now was as good time as any to update our blog.

Life has been crazy! Doug went to Colorado for Will and Jen's wedding from June 22 to July 1. While he was there, Naomi and I stayed in Kobe. Naomi went to day care most of the time, and I took care of her in the evenings and on the weekends. Friends of ours also took care of her on Tuesday and Thursday (Thanks Saki and Trish!). All told, it was a difficult time for us all, and we are happy to be together again.

In other news, Naomi continues to get bigger and stronger. She can almost hold her bottle, and she is really close to crawling. The semester is just about over for me, and I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with Naomi and Doug.

Weather-wise, it is HOT! Doug and Naomi were nearly baked alive today on their way to the Ward Office to get one of a series of immunizations for Naomi. It was so hot that Naomi's body temperature was too high when they arrived, and they had to wait 40 minutes before she could get her shot. It was a nasty one too (the scars look like someone pressed two thimbles on her skin) Doug said she was a trooper though. She's a tough one our little Naomi. Anyway, to beat the heat, we stay in doors where there is air-conditioning if we can help it.

Well, that's our news and we will try to post messages more often, but don't hold your breath. Until next time. Stay cool!

Sorry its been a while since we posted anything to the blog, but we'll try to catch it up a bit for our dedicated fan base!
We had a great visit with Cameron, even though we mostly stayed home with Naomi - sorry Cam! After that, we had Bill and Jen over, and went to Arima Onsen, SanNoMia, ArashiYama, and Kyoto twice. Then they went to Tokyo and we all got really sick. Now that we're starting to feel better, hello to all you lovely people out there in internet land!
That doesn't sound like much, but we're wiped out anyway. (In fairness, there have been lots of exciting hospital visits and laser treatments and that sort of fun stuff to keep us from getting bored.) Doug's going to Bill and Jen's wedding soon, and dreading being away from L'Shawn and Naomi as much as L'Shawn's dreading trying to hold it all together by herself. We'll probably update again after that whole fiasco.
We'll post more when we get around to it. BFN -> Doug and L'Shawn
